Don McDonald

Director, MDH PTY LTD

The McDonald family came to Australia in 1827 with the first shipload of commercial cattle and sheep to Tasmania. A fifth-generation beef producer, Don is a Director of MDH Pty Ltd, which operates 11 cattle breeding and fattening properties and a feedlot, spanning from far north to south-east Queensland. Following the acquisition of Super Butcher in 2012, MDH became a vertically integrated business from paddock to plate, and exports beef under the Wallumba and Alexander brands around the world. Don has worked in every facet of the business and has played a significant role in agricultural and regional policy development as President of the National Party in Queensland and federally.
