James Robertson
Chief of Staff, Fonterra; Award alumni, Summit MC
James brings a unique blend of leadership, industry insight and on-stage presence to his role as MC for the Impact Summit.
A finalist in the Zanda McDonald Award in 2021, James embodies the values of emerging leadership the Summit celebrates. Currently Chief of Staff at Fonterra, based in Auckland, James works closely with the executive team to drive strategic initiatives and coordinate key business processes across the co-operative. He returned to New Zealand in 2024 after three years in China, giving him a global perspective on agribusiness.
With a background in dairy farming, James won the New Zealand Young Farmer of the Year competition in 2019 and has since contributed to the sector as a Board member of the organisation. He holds a Bachelor of AgriCommerce in International Agribusiness from Massey University.
Known for his clarity and ability to connect people and ideas, James is ideally placed to guide conversations, energise discussions, and help bring the Impact Summit experience to life.
