Sarah Groat

2023 Australian Finalist

Sarah Groat is 4th generation living on the family farm near Rankin’s Springs, NSW.

Currently Sarah is acting as an ARN Coordinator with NSW DPIRD Low Emissions Agriculture. She is also the Owner of Agnition Consulting.

She previously worked for Farms of the Future with DPI Climate, the biggest government Agtech programme in the Southern Hemisphere, helping farmers adopt Agtech across 3 million hectares.

In 2021, ABC Broken Hill informed Sarah that she had won a campaign against the Far West Gas Proposal, saving underground aquifers the size of Tasmania from hydraulic fracturing.

Sarah loves exploring the hills around the family farm, creating change, travelling, being active, singing, and painting.
