David Foote

For the past 45 years, David has held rural, operational, senior and executive management roles across all mainland states of Australia.

Until stepping back in December 2020 to chair the Advisory board, David has been in the leadership role at the Lee Families, Australian Country Choice group of Companies since 1999. Over that time with 42 properties covering over 1.75 million hectares and a carrying capacity of 280,000 cattle to supports its three feedlots and processing plant in Brisbane, ACC grew to be the world’s largest privately owned vertically integrated beef operation.

In 2010 David was awarded Rural Press Pty Ltd “Beef achiever of the year” in recognition of his contribution to the industry.

In his retirement, David continues to represents Agricultural industry interests through roles such as; Chairman-Cattle Australia, non-Government member Australia-Indonesia Red Meat & Cattle Partnership, Deputy Chair Laguna Bay Pastoral investment committee, Chair- Angel Seafoods, Shareholder board member Inventia Genetic Technologies (IGT), non-executive director Craig Mostyn Group and advisory board member of Lite n Easy.

With a strong sense of wishing to be engaged with the next gen in Food and Ag, David has a continuing role as a mentor in the Advancing Beef Leaders program, a long-time active supporter of the Inter Collegiate Meat Judging program, a continuing judge for the Qld and National Rural Ambassador Awards program
and locally active for the Toogoolawah Junior Cattle Camp.

Away from work David & wife Marian have a small cattle property in the Mt Kilcoy district running Charolais cross & Charbray breeders to the delight of their four grandchildren.
